If you doubt your muscles could feel any more confused than the first time you did the Tony's dvds, you ain't seen nothing yet.  The P90X2 Workouts will have your energy systems so challenge, they certainly can make you grow stronger and more efficient.  As intensity increases, training volume needs to decrease to give you more time for recovery.  This means you'll only be training 5 days a week.  Remember, your body can only grow during the rest period, so don't skip it.  If you can complete the fit test, then you're ready for this workout.  If not, you might want to start with a more introductory routine.

Is the next generation of the most popular fitness program in America.  P90X2 isn't necessarily harder than its predecesor, but it does adhere to the most modern thinking in sports science.  But in this case, form is just as important as function.  It's designed to let you get the most out of your workout.  Each training phase and corresponding recovery period is designed so it can be tailored to your specific needs.  You do, however, need more equipment.  There's a lot of medicine balls and stability balls used in this workout.  That means you have to acquaint yourself to a whole new type of regimen.  But it's fun and challenging, and it will rock your core muscles like nothing before!

One of the ways we improve functionality is by introducing instability into the exercises we do.  Think of it as a graduate course.  Sometimes we use outside aids.  Other times we use unilateral moviements which mimc real world functionality.  In other words, just half the body at a time.  Having this unstable platform forces your body to recruit more muscles to help out.  You'll walk with less effort, your posture will improve, and life will just seem easier and more effortless.  You'll also find it simpler to build muscle and lose fat.

A significant factor in increasing athletic performance is mobility.  Most adults are in awe when they wathc the way children move. Without a lifetime of wear and tear and bad movement patterns, children move with a fluidity attributed to youth.  To combat learned patterns and preserve the process of growing up, P90x2 has incorporate four different flexibility techniques:  self myofascial release, static stretching, ballistic stretching, and neuro integrated stretches.  You are going to use a rumble roller, which works out the knots that you've accumulated through neglect.  It's like a rolling pin for your muscles.  Daily foam rolls can do more to enhance your performance than any other single form of therapeutic movement.  Plus, it feels great!  We still use huggers, shakers, etc.  But this is an additional tool that you are going to learn to love.
